Cote, Jackson and Curran Join Beatdown
Thursday's "Beatdown" is loaded with interviews, fight analysis, and, of course, MMA-related discussion. Joining TJ De Santis and Sherdog.com editor Josh Gross on the Sherdog Radio Network are Patrick Cote (Pictures), Jeremy Jackson (Pictures) and
Jeff Curran (Pictures).
The Ultimate Fighter 4 was a perfect show for a guy like Cote. Hailing from Montreal, Quebec, the Canadian has an MMA record of 8-3, his losses coming inside the Octagon. "The Predator" took out Jorge Rivera (Pictures) and Edwin Dewees (Pictures) on the show to advance to the finals this Saturday night in Las Vegas, where he fights Travis Lutter (Pictures) for the No. 1 contender spot in the UFC 185-pound division. Cote discusses the fight, which airs live on Spike TV, UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva, and fellow Quebecer Georges St. Pierre (Pictures)'s chances against welterweight champion Matt Hughes (Pictures) at UFC 65.
"The Scorpion" Jackson spent much of his career fighting tough opponents as well as personal demons. Jackson was fortunate enough to get a slot on TUF 4 only to give it up after a fling with a life guard. Jackson talks about the TUF experience, life outside of the sport, and his upcoming bout with "The Secret Weapon" Pete Spratt (Pictures).
Curran has fought some of the best fighters in the world. Competing in PRIDE, UFC, Super Brawl, and this weekend XFO, which he co-promotes with Monte Cox, "The Big Frog" speaks about the card at the Sears Center Arena in Hoffman States,
Ill. Curran fights Raphael Assuncao in the main event.
