Just making it back to the Octagon was a victory in itself for Vicente Luque.

After a brain bleed forced “The Silent Assassin” to spend a year on the sidelines, he made a successful return to action in the UFC on ESPN 51 headliner, taking a unanimous verdict over ex-lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on Saturday night. Not only did Luque snap a two-fight losing streak, but he showcased some different skills by relying on takedowns and clinch work in a grinding affair. As a result of his efforts, Luque maintains his No. 12 ranking in the welterweight poll.

Meanwhile, Logan Storley did as expected in the Bellator 298 main event, as he defeated Brennan Ward via second-round technical knockout in front of his hometown fans in South Dakota. The former interim welterweight champion has won four of his last five outings within the California-based promotion and remains No. 14 in the divisional rankings.
