UFC Fight Night Connecticut Medicals: ‘Jacare’ Suspended Indefinitely for Hand Injury

Ronaldo Souza finished Gegard Mousasi during the third round of their middleweight main event bout at UFC Fight Night “Jacare vs. Mousasi 2,” but “Jacare” came out of the bout with an indefinite medical suspension.

The Gaming Commission and Athletic Division of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation released the full list of medical suspensions from the event to MMAJunkie.com on Tuesday. UFC Fight Night “Jacare vs. Mousasi 2” took place Sept. 5 at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Ledyard, Conn.

Souza, along with Ben Rothwell, John Moraga, Al Iaquinta, and Chas Skelly were all suspended indefinitely pending examinations of their individual ailments. Meanwhile, Michael Chiesa, Rodrigo Damm, Chris Beal and Derrick Lewis received a more definite suspension, getting a minimum of 60 days.

Ronaldo Souza: Suspended indefinitely, requires orthopedic clearance of right hand

Ben Rothwell: Suspended indefinitely, requires orthopedic clearance of right forearm

John Moraga: Suspended indefinitely, requires orthopedic clearance of left elbow

Al Iaquinta: Suspended indefinitely, requires orthopedic clearance of right knee and right hip

Chas Skelly: Suspended indefinitely, requires orthopedic clearance of right hand and foot

Derrick Lewis: Suspended minimum of 60 days and requires new CT scan and neurological clearance

Rodrigo Damm: Suspended minimum of 60 days and requires neurological clearance

Michael Chiesa: Suspended 60 days for laceration

Chris Beal: Suspended minimum of 60 days and requires orthopedic clearance of facial bones

Charles Oliveira: Suspended minimum of 30 days and requires primary care clearance with explanation of treatment

Tateki Matsuda: Suspended 30 days for laceration
