According to information provided to mixedmartialarts.com on Friday, Usman may be unable to step in the Octagon for the foreseeable future unless he gets medically cleared. Usman defended his 170-pound strap with a five-round decision over Masvidal at the Flash Forum in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, at UFC 251. Although the champ only absorbed 23 significant strikes to the head, he will need to be cleared by a Nasal X-Ray or will be on the shelf for a six-month period. He also has been issued a minimum 21-day no contact order, even if he is cleared.

Elsewhere on the card, former light heavyweight turned heavyweight Maxim Grishin made his promotional debut against Marcin Tybura, where he dropped a one-sided unanimous verdict. The damage Grishin took in the bout earned him an identical potential suspension to Usman, facing 180 days away unless he is cleared by a Nasal X-Ray. At the minimum, Grishin will be suspended for 21 days with no contact.

Kicking off the evening at bantamweight, Martin Day was separated from his consciousness with one punch from Davey Grant. Despite this finish, of the two fighters involved, Grant is the one that will need to cleared by an oral and maxillofacial surgeon or he will not be allowed to compete for 180 days. He has been given 30 days no contact as a minimum suspension.
