BetUS.com lists Taira as a -200 favorite for the headliner, with Perez as a +165 underdog. In the co-main event, Johns is favored at -140, with Silva de Andrade coming back at +110.

Perez, 32, enters the Octagon on the strength of his first win in nearly four years. The Team Oyama mainstay last appeared at UFC on ESPN 55, where he punched out Matheus Nicolau in the second round of their April 27 encounter. Perez holds a 7-4 record in the UFC. Taira, meanwhile, has emerged as one of the sport’s top prospects. The 24-year-old former Shooto champion last suited up on Dec. 9, when he buried Carlos Hernadez with punches in the second round of their UFC Fight Night 233 altercation. The victory moved Taira to 15-0 overall and 5-0 in the UFC.

UFC on ESPN 58 also features a featherweight scrap pitting Timothy Cuamba (-190) against Lucas Almeida (+160), a bantamweight tilt slotting Garrett Armfield (-190) opposite Bradey Hiestand (+160), a flyweight affair matching Asu Almabaev (-600) with Jose Johnson (+400) and a welterweight clash pairing Josh Quinlan (-120) with Adam Fugitt (-110). Flyweights anchor the undercard, where Tagir Ulanbekov (-200) confronts Joshua Van (+165) in the featured prelim at 125 pounds.
