Team Quest coaches Pat Healy and Brad Hannah are currently holding a six-week training camp for fighters from various Chinese teams at Xian Sports University in Shaanxi Province. One such fighter is Wenbo Liu, a light heavyweight who makes his Legend Fighting Championship debut against New Zealander Sam Brown on Oct. 30.

Over the course of the six weeks, Healy and Liu will blog their experiences for Sherdog.com. Today’s post comes from Liu as the camp enters its second week.

We are now in our second week of the training camp and things are starting to get really intense. It’s been a long time since I heard a professional sanda athlete complain about being sore, but it’s evident that everyone is adjusting to the new training. It’s also evident that there are some very talented fighters that are going to be a force in MMA very soon.

Yesterday, I showed Jumabieke Tuerxun the blogs on Sherdog.com. His first question to me was, “Why is my record 4-0? I have won over 20 MMA fights.” I will have to call Joe Qiao from Legend today and ask him to get Jumabieke’s profile updated. We’re all very excited to be promoted in America and we all wonder what Americans think of China...?

Guan Wang has joined our camp. He’s training very hard, as he will be fighting a Japanese, Koji Ando, and it’s very important that he represent our country and win. Some of our former China MMA stars have also joined our camp Hai Lin Ao arrived yesterday and started training with us. Many of the sanda schools from all over China are sending their fighters to join us for this camp, and a lot of Chinese media is covering it. I think we’re going to be famous. I also heard that Legend 6 will be broadcast in my hometown of Qingdao, in Shandong province, and on American pay-per-view. That means I’ll have a lot of face! Hope you guys in America can see me, too!

Anyway, it’s late and I am very sore and we have practice again in the morning, so I’m going to sign off for now.
