Kickboxing: Glory Adds Trio of Title Fights to March Show in Paris

Kickboxing promoter Glory on Tuesday announced that its March 12 event in Paris will include three world title fights, with the Glory heavyweight, light heavyweight and featherweight belts up for grabs.

The main event of Glory 28 will see heavyweight king Rico Verhoeven defend his crown and nine-fight Glory winning streak against Mladen Brestovac. Holland’s Verhoeven (47-10, 12 KOs) is coming off a sensational first-round knockout of Benjamin Adegbuyi at Glory 26 and he looks to do the same against Brestovac (49-10-1, 32 KOs), who hails from Croatia.

Saulo Cavalari (32-2, 19 KOs) is slated to defend his light heavyweight title against tough Russian contender Artem Vakhitov (15-5, 6 KOs), while Serhiy Adamchuk (31-5, 14 KOs) will make his first defense of the Glory featherweight title against Mosab Amrani (55-10-4, 18 KOs).

Also scheduled for the evening is a four-man tournament to determine the promotion’s No. 1 lightweight contender. The entire bracket has not been finalized yet, but Thai superstar Sittichai (106-29-5, 29 KOs) is confirmed to participate.

The marquee’s co-main event will be a rousing welterweight battle between Murthel Groenhart (58-19-3, 33 KOs) taking on Cedric Doumbe (55-4-1, 35 KOs). Freddy Kemayo (65-22-1, 45 KOs) and Eddy Nait Slimani (59-1, 17 KOs) will also compete, but their opponents have not been revealed yet.
