Guram Kutateladze Wants to 'Punish’ Paddy Pimblett for Russo-Georgian War Jokes

“The Georgian Viking” didn’t appreciate what “The Baddy” said after being called out on social media.

Shortly before being matched up with Don Madge (9-3-1, 2-0 UFC) for a 155-pound clash that will go down on July 17, Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight contender Guram Kutateladze (12-2, 1-0 UFC) had a heated exchange on his socials with promotional newcomer Paddy Pimblett (16-3, 0-0 UFC). Kutateladze was looking for a fight, and the 29-year old Georgian fighter believed the Cage Warriors Fighting Championship alum was the right pick. Things escalated pretty quickly, and things were said about Russia’s invasion of Georgia in August 2008.

“I didn’t have any beef, the guy just went crazy,” Kutateladze said while talking with Sherdog. “I don’t have any beef with anybody. It [is not] really worth it, my time, my energy and my attention. I just challenged the guy because I wanted the fight, but he started to trash talk and started talking about different things, everything [but] fighting and outside the fighting. That is not acceptable. This is something disrespectful and very uneducated, very low action, the things he said.”

The Georgian fighter stated that he’s focused on his next opponent, but he will also look for a chance to teach Pimblett some manners inside the cage.

“Something probably is wrong with his head,” he added. “In his mind, he’s probably like 9 or 10 years old. I don’t know what he was doing before or how he was raised and with whom he was raised, but it doesn’t really matter. The things he said about [my] country and [my] people and [the] war between Georgia and Russia is something that you don’t accept. Hopefully, one day we’re going to meet in the cage, and I can show him and punish him for his words because he has to take responsibility for the words he’s saying. It’s not worth meeting him in the street and disrespect the organization and do these childish things.”
