Chris Wade Says He’s Not Through with Bubba Jenkins

The rivalry between Chris Wade and Bubba Jenkins is far from being over, and since April, it has taken a turn for the personal.

After his defeat at the hands of Jenkins at Week 2 of this season, Wade (22-9, 10-6 PFL) finds himself on a two-bout losing skid for only the second time in his career. The Ultimate Fighting Championship alum is more motivated than ever to reach this year’s Professional Fighters League playoffs, but he understands he must deliver a first-round stoppage over Ryoji Kudo to advance in the tournament on June 8 as he has gathered zero points to date. “The Long Island Killer” believes that with a victory, he will have the chance to meet Jenkins again. Wade still thinks that the clash with “Bad Man” was winnable for him, were he not in a bad place mentally during that fight due to some undisclosed personal issues affecting him. While he initially didn't take the loss personally, Jenkins’s antics during the bout, such as air humping, made Wade reconsider. Wade believes in karma and is confident he and Jenkins will cross paths again.

“I thought about, just like out of principle, ‘What if I just walk up on [Jenkins] Nate Diaz-style and lace him in the hallway the next time we show up in Georgia?,’ but I understand that that pretty much ends my ride here, so takes money out of my family's pocket. It's not really the smart play. Maybe if I was in a better spot, he would get some street justice right away. There's certain [things] you just don't do to somebody else in there. I feel like he definitely crossed that line, so he could get it for sure.”
