With recent reports of former Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight titleholder Brock Lesnar being a free agent, the mixed martial arts community has been buzzing with potential foes for a hypothetical return to the UFC. One such name bandied about is former light heavyweight champion, and newly minted heavyweight, Jon Jones. While serving as guest co-host on this week’s Back Talk, National Wrestling Alliance world champion Nick Aldis gave his thoughts on the match-up. Although, the international wrestling star actually had another name in mind for the former World Wrestling Entertainment heavyweight champion.

“That’s the one everyone’s talking about, but there’s a lot of moving parts. There’s also a big giant pile of money. The thing with Brock Lesnar; nobody knows what he’s been doing for the last few months. For all we know, he’s training his ass off. And I dare say that’s probably been happening,” Aldis said. “Just because it’s the first that we are hearing about it, doesn’t mean it’s a new situation. It’s just new information for us. Brock Lesnar is a very private guy. So my guess is that if that’s where he’s going, and they want to make that big fight then he’s probably been preparing for it for quite some time. I actually like the idea of Brock fighting Stipe [Miocic]. I think that’s an interesting match-up.”

As guest co-host with Jason Burgos, Aldis also answered questions from the Sherdog forums on MMA and professional wrestling topics. Plus, he talked the latest in his career, NWA navigating through the pandemic, how WWE and other promotions have handled it and if an appearance for All Elite Wrestling could be in his future.
