The former UFC champion announced in a video on social media that he has signed with Combate Americas, and promotion CEO Campbell McLaren later confirmed the news. A date and opponent for Ortiz’s debut have not been revealed.

“I’m ready to fight. I’m ready to kick some f—-ing ass,” Ortiz said.

Ortiz last appeared in the debut event for Golden Boy MMA, where he scored a first-round knockout of Chuck Liddell in the evening’s main event on Nov. 24. Prior to that, the 44-year-old went 3-1 during a four-bout stint with Bellator MMA, posting wins over Alexander Shlemenko, Stephan Bonnar and Chael Sonnen.

Ortiz owns a 20-12-1 career record that includes a 15-11-1 stint in the UFC. “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” owns wins over the likes of Ryan Bader, Forest Griffin, Vitor Belfort, Ken Shamrock and Wanderlei Silva during his professional tenure.
