T.J. Dillashaw Loses Sponsorship Deal With Monster Energy

Disgraced former UFC bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw has been dealt a further blow, with reports now claiming the champion has lost his recently-inked sponsorship deal with Monster Energy.

The 33-year-old was handed a two-year suspension by the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) last month for testing positive for recombinant human erythropoietin (EPO) prior to his fight with Henry Cejudo back in January. For Dillashaw, the suspension means he’ll receive no income from the UFC until he is able to compete from Jan. 19, 2020 onwards.

To further compound the issue, ESPN’s Ariel Helwani revealed in a tweet on Tuesday that Monster Energy has cancelled an edorsement agreement with the former champ.

“Monster Energy has parted ways with TJ Dillashaw, according to Monster’s Hans Molenkamp. The company signed him to a promotional deal in Dec. 2018. Dillashaw, the former UFC bantamweight champion, is currently serving a two-year suspension after he tested positive for EPO in Jan.”
