Donald Cerrone Warns Leon Edwards he Won’t be the Calm ‘Cowboy’ on Saturday in Singapore

Donald Cerrone has never been the type of guy who engages in trash talking with his opponents, instead letting his actions inside the cage do the talking. So when his opponent came out accusing him of being “old” and “slow” it didn’t sit too well with the Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran.

Cerrone faces Leon Edwards this Saturday at UFC Fight Night 132 inside Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore, in a welterweight matchup on UFC Fight Pass. For Cerrone, creating friction between each other is simply not necessary.

“Yo, Leon, there is no need for us to be angry with each other right now. He called me old and slow. So I told him he has to go home and tell his mamma that an old and slow man beat your ass.”

Cerrone has said that Edward’s comments towards him have just made him “pissed off” and fans won’t see the happy “Cowboy” after the fight that congratulates and is jovial with his opponent.

“Leon Edwards, young, up-and-coming fighter that does not want to play fair. He wants to run his mouth and tell the world all the things he is going to do to me,” he added. “It’s good, go ahead. I tried to be cordial and I tried to be cool. Now you are getting a pissed off ‘Cowboy.’ I don’t even have to talk to you after I beat your ass, so that’s cool.”

Edwards is coming into the bout high on confidence riding a five fight win streak. A win over Cerrone will be the biggest achievement of his young career so far and puts him in a good position for a potential bout against his fellow countryman Darren Till.
