Glory 41: Holland Weigh-in Results: Verhoeven a Dozen Pounds Lighter Than Lazaar

Glory, the world’s leading kickboxing promotion, will return to The Netherlands on Saturday with what is expected to another excellent night of action. With the promotion’s reigning heavyweight champion anchoring the event and the featherweight title on the line, the stakes were high at Friday’s weigh-ins. As expected, however, a hitch was nowhere to be found near the scale.

In a rare flip of the script, the Glory 41 SuperFight Series will actually headline the event, coming after the Glory 41 card proper. Glory heavyweight king Rico Verhoeven is the featured attraction as he’s fighting in front of his hometown crowd and he looked as monstrous as ever on the scale. “The King of Kickboxing” is set to face Ismael Lazaar, though Verhoeven’s title will not be at stake. Lazaar weighed in first and came in at 267.6 pounds while Verhoeven tipped the scale a dozen pounds lighter at 255.7.

The Glory featherweight crown is on the line in the co-feature as Robin Van Roosmalen will square off against Petchpanomrung Kiatmookao. The Thai star, who cleaned house in the featherweight contender tournament at Glory 39, weighed in at 141.5 pounds. Van Roosmalen followed suit and scaled in at 142.6.

Glory 41: Holland will be streamed live on ESPN3 beginning at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT, followed by the Glory 41 Super Fight Series card on UFC Fight Pass 3:30 p.m. ET/12:30 pm. PT.
