GBP on ESPN Weigh-in Results: Cano, Maldonado On Weight for Regional Title Fight

Golden Boy Promotions continues its surge across American
televisions with another solid event on ESPN. Pablo Cesar Cano will
take on Fidel Maldonado Jr. in the main of the latest edition of
GBP on ESPN on Saturday night and at Friday’s weigh-ins, both
fighters were on point.
Maldonado (23-3-1, 19 KOs) is coming off two straight wins and has gone 4-0-1 since losing to Amir Imam two-plus years ago. The Albuquerque native came in as ready as ever and weighed in at 140 pounds on the dot. Cano (30-5-1, 21 KOs) has come up short in world title bids against Erik Morales and Paulie Malignaggi in his career and the Mexican is looking to build upon a solid win over Mauricio Herrera in November. Cano came in at 139.5 pounds.
The action will begin on the cable sports giant at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT. The card is being held at Tostitos Championship Plaza at the Star in Frisco, Texas.
