Chris Eubank Jr., Lee Selby Victorious on Fite TV

Fite TV delivered a night of action to fight fans across the globe as one bout had World Boxing Super Series implications and the other featured a world champion defending his title. Chris Eubank Jr. took on former multiple-time world champ “King” Arthur Abraham in the main event and he made it look easy, while Lee Selby retained his featherweight crown against Jonathan Victor Barros.

Eubank (25-1, 19 KOs) was too fast, too accurate and too elusive for the aging Abraham to handle, allowing the Brit to win an easy 12-round unanimous decision. Neither fighter was ever in danger in the contest, but Eubank’s offense kept Abraham (46-6, 30 KOs) guessing throughout, unable to find any sort of rhythm. In the end, Eubank won a lopsided unanimous decision with scores of 118-110 (twice) and 120-108. The win allows Eubank to enter the WBSS later in the year.

Selby (26-1, 9 KOs) was nearly as dominant as Eubank as he dropped Barros to win a wide unanimous nod of his own. Selby was cut over his right eye from an accidental clash of heads in the fifth, but aside from that minor setback, “Lighting” Lee was as precise as a tattoo artist inside the ring. A left hook dropped Barros (41-5-1, 22 KOs) in the 12th and Selby wound up winning via tallies of 119-108 and 117-110 (twice) to retain his IBF 126-pound title.
